Grant Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in the Vermeer Charitable Foundation. Before you complete the grant form, please check the following guidelines. We're certain you can understand that many more requests for funds are received than we are able to grant.

Over the years we have developed a philosophy of considering requests by the following criteria (These are criteria, considering each request for its individual merit, how it resonates with the VCF's passions and goals, and taking into consideration the more global business focus of Vermeer Corporation.):

-Grants are made to non-profit organizations (not individuals or endowments), primarily in Pella and communities from which our team members commute.

-VCF supports select Christian, faith-based and educational causes.

-Procedurally, all requests must go through the VCF application process.

-VCF focus is on programs with an emphasis on process improvement - with a lesser passion for building programs.

-VCF does not offer grants for on-going operational budgets.

-One proposal per year, per organization, will be eligible for consideration by the Directors. This should reflect the needs of all groups within your organization.

-Grants are not restricted to financial resource - a grant could be requesting time/talent/other.

-No additional proposals should be submitted by an organization currently receiving funding from a multiple-year pledge.  Your organization will again be eligible to submit a request when the pledge is completed.

-VCF supports other select causes that reflect the collective passions of the Vermeer Charitable Foundation.

-Finally, VCF's consideration for gifts will be based on anticipated impact supported by measurable outcomes.

If you feel your organization would fit within the scope of our philosophy as listed in the criteria above, please send a letter or e-mail briefly describing your organization's request to the address below and asking for login information to access the actual grant form.  For legal purposes, the Foundation must have documentation of an organization's exempt status - such as 501(c)3 - on file.

The directors of the Vermeer Charitable Foundation meet three times a year for the purpose of reviewing and providing grants.
